Training Program Based on the TEACCH Model (Treatment and Education of Autism and Related Communication Handicapped Children)

Week of February 6 - 10, 2012; 9 AM - 4 PM each day
This program provides basic training on Structured and Individualized Intervention in its application to autism, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) and other types of disabilities following the prescriptions of the TEACCH model and of Eric Schopler of the University of North Carolina. During the five-day program, participants will become familiarized with the characteristics of autism and PDD's as well as with aspects relative to the implementation of this approach in a variety of settings. During the training week, five individuals with developmental disabilities will be participating in the activities organized by the animators.
