This workshop series is an introduction on the practice of mindfulness. It is intended to help individuals develop a mindfulness practice to improve well-being, cultivate awareness and increase the ability to be in the present moment. It is designed for parents, students and professionals who care for or work with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities who demonstrate challenging behaviours. The practice of mindfulness is known to decrease stress levels and increase the likelihood of responding to problematic behaviours in a reflective manner.

Bethanie Roy, BComm
Bethanie Roy is a clinical supervisor and specialized educator. Her professional experiences have led her to work closely with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disabilities, their parents and professional care providers in various settings. Trained in the practice and teaching of mindfulness meditation, by renowned Dr. Nirbhay Singh, the Gold Centre is proud to have Bethanie to share her expertise and passion with you.
